Hunter Kohn drives his way to his first micro feature win leading all 30 laps.

Hunter Kohn went into the Saturday night looking for that first micro win. He started on the pole of the feature event and held off Nick Drake and Trevor Cline all 30 laps and got his first micro victory.

Hunter and Grandma and Grandpa stand in victory lane after a rough season and a very special win.

Hunter and his 48 PEM Racing Gears & Drivetrain, Tom Cat Performance beginner box stock racing team is off to a strong start this season.  In his first 5 races this season he already has 4 top three finishes.  These haven’t came without some problems.  Just last week May 14th Hunter had his first flip ever in hot laps.  Being the racer he is he told papaw to patch it back up so he could race.  He came back and won his heat race and finished 3rd in the feature that night.    He had one of his best races with lots of side by side racing and swapping for the lead.  Hunter is currently sitting 2nd in the point standings.  Hunter would like to thank all his sponsors, PEM racing gears and drivetrains, Tom Cat Performance, TriStar Racewear, Bullet Impressions Inc., Brain Bucket Deszigns and Joshua Pettit.com Web Development.  We hope to see everyone out at Millbridge Speedway this year.

North Carolina Fair Week Wrap Up

We had a long but successful week.  Night one had Hunter racing at the Iredell County Fairgrounds.  It was a new track for him and he adjusted very well.  He ran 2nd in his heat race, which lined him 2nd row outside for the feature.  He finished 4th in the feature that night.  Night 2 was back at Millbridge Speedway.  Hunter ran 2nd his heat race and ended up 4th in the feature.  Night 3 was back to the Iredell County Fairgrounds.  Hunter ran 2nd in his heat race.  That lined him up 2nd row inside for the feature.  When the green flag waved he fell into second place behind the leader.  The leader got tangled with a lap car so Hunter inherited the lead.  The race went back to green and Hunter hit his marks and maintained the lead.  The second caution flew for another pileup.  Hunter maintained the lead for the next four laps.  As he was coming off turn 4 to take the checkered flag the second place car ran over him taking him out.  He limped across the finish line finishing second.  We may not have won any races this week but Hunter did learn alot and he at least finished where he started or better.  Hunter is excited to finish out the season at Millbridge Speedway.  He will be back in action this Wednesday night 09/11/13.  Thank you to everyone who came out and supported Hunter this week!!
